Professional Guided Hunts In The Heart Of New Zealand’s Southern Alps
New Zealand Tahr Hunts

Himalayan Tahr were introduced to New Zealand in 1904 as a gift from the Duke of Bedford. They’ve since thrived in the Southern Alps, becoming one of the most iconic alpine game animals in the country.

Intro
We’re specialists in authentic free-range Red Stag hunts in New Zealand’s epic remote back country. These hunts are fair-chase, with no fences, offering a true New Zealand roar season experience. For hunters who want massive antlers beyond what wild stags can grow, we can also arrange limited estate stag hunts each year.
Species Background
Red Deer were introduced to New Zealand in the mid 1800’s, and have since established themselves all over the country. New Zealand is particularly well known for its trophy Red Stag hunting, with some of the largest and most impressive antlers in the world.
Hunt Duration
2–5 days, often combined with Tahr/Chamois
Hunting Style
